22 Pounds of Marijuana Discovered at North Haven Distribution Center

Two arrests made so far.

North Haven Police report that twenty-two pounds of marijuana were discovered in a local distribution center last Friday morning.

Zeus, the Department's K9 dog, alerted Officer James Brennan to two packages being sent to a Meriden address during a narcotics sweep of the facility. The pot was found inside the containers.

The estimated street value of twenty-two pounds of marijuana is $20,000.

Following the initial search, the NHPD and Connecticut State Police began a followup investigation, executing search warrants in Meriden and New Britain that led to to the seizure of $50,000 in cash, a handgun, and two arrests.

The investigation is ongoing, and the names of the suspects in custody have not yet been released.

In other police news, Alfred Misinonile III, 30, of West Haven was arrested Saturday in a Universal Drive parking lot for driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

A subsequent search of the car turned up a switchblade knife, and 57 tablets of generic Percocet.

The man was charged with possession of narcotics, and having a weapon in the vehicle.

Misinonile posted $5,000 to secure his release from custody, and is scheduled to appear in court on June 30.
