Christopher Cote, 20, of North Haven was arrested following the burglary of an elderly woman's residence on Hartford Turnpike.
According to police, the 88-year-old homeowner reported a man breaking into her house Friday morning through an unlocked door.
The woman confronted the robber, causing him to flee from the residence.

Using a description given by the homeowner, police located Cote nearby. Following a brief chase, the man was taken into custody and charged with burglary in the second degree, and interfering with police.
Cote was held on a $100,000 bond and is currently scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior court to face the allegations.
