Arrests Made in June Robbery of Universal Drive Store

The last of three individuals involved in an early June 2013 robbery turned herself into the North Haven Police Department on Sept. 19, 2013.

In early June 2013 three individuals entered a Universal Drive store together. A man, later identified as Corey Abdi-Aziz, gathered approximately $900 worth of items. He attempted to leave the store, with the merchandise, through a set of doors that only opened inwards, but failed to get through.

Abdi-Aziz then ran around the store’s counter pushing down a 69-year-old store employee causing her to hit her head on the ground. Abdi-Aziz was then confronted by a second store employee who attempted to grab the merchandise. Abdi-Aziz punched the employee several times, and with the assistance of one of his female accomplices, Tahnarra Mayo, he broke free from the employ’s grasp.
