Update: Victim ID'd in Fatal I-91 Accident

The victim was identified as Sandra Baroncini, 41, of New Haven, according to the New Haven Register.

A one-car accident on Interstate 91 between exits 9 and 10 has claimed the life of the driver, according to a North Haven Fire Department official.

State police are on scene investigating the accident, a dispatcher at Connecticut State Police's Troop I reported.

The far left lane has been closed since the report of the accident came in at about 4:20 p.m., said Fire Lt. Jeff Obier. Firefighters from Engine 1 and Emergency 1 responded to the scene and found the vehicle in the center median, Obier said.

There was nothing firefighters could do to save the woman as she was dead upon arrival, he said. The victim's identity has not been released.
