Firefighters Raise Funds, Shave Their Heads in Fight Against Childhood Cancer

Members of the North Haven Professional Firefighters Association — along with a Clintonville School teacher and wife of a firefighter — raised more than $6,600 by taking part in the St. Baldrick's fundraiser held at O'Tooles Irish Bar in New Haven.

On Friday March 1st at 7:00pm, 9 members of the North Haven Professional Firefighters Association and a wife of a member participated in the Annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser held at O’Tooles Irish Bar in New Haven.

The event was sponsored by the New Haven County Firefighters Emerald Society.

Team North Haven raised $6,625.00 and the event was able to raise over $74,000.

Anna Filosi, a first grade teacher at Clintonville School and wife of Firefighter Richard Filosi, took part in the event and was the top fundraiser on Team North Haven.

In a show of support for Mrs. Filosi’s brave gesture, members of the North Haven Professional Firefighters Association surprised her class on Monday morning.

The New Haven County Firefighters Emerald Society hosts this event every year, and has raised over $350,000 for the St. Baldricks Organization over the past 6 years. The event is chaired by North Haven Professional Firefighter Jason Cusack.
