Hamden Teen in North Haven Crash Has Died; Was Son of HPS Admnistrator

The 17-year-old Hamden teen involved in the Aug. 12 car accident in North Haven has died, and according to reports he is identified as Alex McGraw, the son of Hamden Asst. Supt and Director of Pupil and Personnel Services Bill McGraw.


Original Aug. 13 story:

A 17-year-old Hamden teenager was seriously injured Monday when his car struck another car and then a utility pole at the intersection of Elm Street and Broadway in North Haven, according to police.

The teen, who hasn't been identified, suffered "life-threatening injuries," according to police, after emergency workers had to cut him out of his car, a Camero.

The 85-year-old woman driving the car he struck also was injured and taken to the hospital, according to police.

Police are asking that anyone who might have witnessed the accident to call them at 203-239-1616.
