Couple Arrested for Impersonating Police
A New Haven couple reportedly pretended to be police officers and pulled over a Hamden couple and their infant child on Sept. 8.

The New Haven man allegedly flashed a gun during the incident, police said. The female suspect was reportedly in possession of animal control badges from New Canaan and Naugatuck, police said.

The gun, a .40 caliber Glock, was recovered and the New Haven couple was arrested, .
 
Police: Motorist Had Cell in One Hand, Beer in Other
Stratford police arrested a West Haven man Sept. 3 after he was allegedly spotted drinking a can of beer and talking on a cell phone while he was driving through one of the town’s busiest intersections.

While the officer watched, the man reportedly paused in his cell phone conversation to drink out of a Budweiser can, police said. A bag of marijuana and cocaine was reportedly found in the vehicle, too, police told Stratford Patch.
 
Police: Man on Drugs Attacks Cop
A Bridgeport man who was reportedly high on PCP was arrested during the early morning hours on Sept. 4 after he allegedly attacked a Branford police officer.

Police said the 39-year-old suspect tackled the officer as he exited his vehicle when investigating a suspicious vehicle report in a parking lot on East Main Street. The suspect was not in the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle actually came to the aid of the police officer and helped subdue the suspect until backup arrived, Branford Patch reports.
 
Postal Worker Charged with Stealing Mail — Again
A part-time U.S. Postal worker was arrested again for allegedly stealing gift cards from mail in North Branford.

The 31-year-old Wallingford resident was first arrested on Aug. 4 on charges that she stole mail containing gift cards. On Sept. 6, she was hit with more charges as police reportedly uncovered more evidence that showed the woman had stolen more cards than she was originally charged with.

She was hit with 30 charges of sixth-degree larceny, North Branford Patch reports.
 
Resident, Cop Save Suicidal Teen
They jumped down a nine-foot ravine and nearly got stuck up to their necks in mud trying to save a 16-year-old girl who was reportedly attempting to drown herself.

A 48-year-old Hamden resident named Michael Patrick and police officer Jay Bunnell emerged as two heroes Friday when they kept the girl, who had run away from the Children’s Center on Whitney Avenue, from committing suicide, police said.

"The selfless acts of Officer Bunnell and Michael Patrick were instrumental in saving the 16 year-olds life," .
