A member of North Haven Middle School's cleaning staff was arrested last week in connection to a series of thefts reported to have occurred in a locker room used by the girls' softball team during during after-school practices.
In April, members of the team said that an iPod, an iPhone, and articles of athletic clothing had been taken from the locker room.
Responding to the allegations, the school resource officer initiated a surveillance program with North Haven police, and a female officer was posted inside the locker room.
Last week, Derby, CT resident Victor Casco-Rojano, an employee of the contracted independent cleaning crew used by the school, was observed in the locker room.
Following an interview with police, Casco-Rojano, 21, was charged with four counts of larceny in the sixth degree, with a court date scheduled for June 30.
It is not known if Casco-Rojano has been fired from the cleaning company.
According to police, all stolen property has been recovered.
