North Haven Man Struck in Head With Tire Iron in Street Fight

Two men were arrested after a dispute in a car escalated into a fight that spilled over to Nettleton Avenue.

Two North Haven men were arrested on assault charges after an altercation that also involved a tire iron Tuesday afternoon on Nettleton Avenue.

Daniel Gregory, 27, and Jesse Ardito, 28, were traveling in a vehicle together at about 2:51 p.m. and had a dispute that escalated into a fight, according to a police press release. The fight continued after the vehicle pulled over and Ardito allegedly struck Gregory in the head with a tire iron, according to police.

The responding officers found Gregory suffering from head injuries and he was treated by Fire Department personnel and taken to a local hospital.

Gregory was issued a summons for third-degree assault. Ardito was charged with second-degree assault and breach of peace. He is currently being held on bail.
