North Haven Police Ban Through-Traffic Behind Station

New measure intended to improve safety and security of facility.

Through-traffic will no longer be permitted behind the North Haven Police's headquarters on Linsley Street.

Only police cars and approved visitors to the station will be allowed to park behind the building.

In a statement issued by the Department, the NHPD said that the change is intended to increase security at the facility, and to increase the safety of pedestrians and vehicles downtown.

Residents wishing to visit the station will still be permitted to enter the parking lot via the Town Hall entrance on Church Street and the driveway on Linsley Street. The library can be reached by either Elm Street or Broadway. 

"We appreciate everyone’s support with this minor modification that will enhance the safety of those in the center block area," said the Department.
