ORIGINAL POST

A gas station attendant is in stable condition Monday after he was was stabbed and left bleeding at the North Haven convenience store where he worked — until he was eventually found by his concerned wife.

And the incident is the second at the store in the last week, after the same Citgo station was robbed at knifepoint Saturday.

Single Knife Wound

According to North Haven Police, just after midnight on Tuesday, officers responded to the Citco Convenience Store at 490 Washington Avenue for a reported stabbing.

First responders found the store’s lone employee sustained a single knife wound to the back of his neck.

He was transported to an area hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Victim Found by Wife

"The store employee’s wife became nervous when her husband did not return home from the Citco Convenience Store where he has been employed for about one month," North Haven Police Lt. Kevin Glenn stated in a press release.

After several failed attempts to contact him on his cellular phone she decided to drive to the store to check on him.

Shortly after midnight the woman found her husband inside of the store where he had been stabbed near the base of his skull and was bleeding severely.

Earlier Incident at Same Store

This incident took place only two days after a masked man entered the same store with a knife demanding money.

Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident are asked to contact the Investigative Services Division of the North Haven Police Department at 203-239-5321.
