North Haven's Police Chief McLoughlin Wins Distinguished Chief Award

North Haven's police chief earned a prestigious award from the Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut this week.

North Haven can now say that it has one of the most distinguished police chiefs in Connecticut.

Wednesday evening, North Haven Police Chief Thomas McLoughlin received the Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut's Distinguished Chief award, according to a post of the Town of North Haven's Facebook page. The town thanked McLoughlin in the post.

"This is quite an honor and we are very proud of Chief McLoughlin for the great job he does for our Town and citizens," the post read.

McLoughlin was named chief in 2011, replacing the retiring James DiCarlo. McLoughlin has been with the North Haven Police Department for over 30 years and lives in town.
