OMG PD: Deodorant Thief Makes Stink; Woman Assaults Senior Citizen Relative; Persistent Ex Ends Up in Court

When crime is weird, wonderful or just plain freaky, you'll find it in OMG PD.

MILFORD – Why is one question that comes to mind on this report. Why would someone steal 58 containers of deodorant?

The question may be answered when Joseph Mingolello appears in court on charges of sixth-degree larceny and third-degree robbery. Mingolello, 45, of Bridgeport, reportedly stuffed 58 deodorants in his pants and then tried to leave Ocean State Job Lot. Store employees were probably tipped off by Mingolello’s awkward walk – seriously, we can’t imagine anyone can walk normally with that many products in their pants. He allegedly pushed one of them and attempted to strike another before fleeing, police said.

It was all caught on video, which police used to identify Mingolello. Man, we’d love to watch that tape!

HAMDEN – This woman apparently never learned to respect her elders.

Police arrested Priscilla Jeffrey, 51, of Hamden, last week on charges of assaulting a victim over 60, interfering with a 911 call, threatening and disorderly conduct. What makes this worse is the victim was reportedly her relative who had recently been discharged from the hospital.

Police reported that Jeffrey knocked the 72-year-old victim over, hit the person in the neck with a metal grabber and threw the walker into another room so the victim couldn't get up. Jeffrey also allegedly broke the three telephones in the home so the victim couldn't call police.

STRATFORD – A bad break up just got worse.

Damon Cook, 36, of Bridgeport, was arrested Feb. 18 on charges of harassment and criminal trespass when police responded to a Success Avenue apartment on report of an unwanted person.

Cook was reportedly trying to make contact with an ex-girlfriend, who had ended their relationship weeks earlier. And he was persistent. According to police, Cook returned to the apartment four times that day, despite warnings from police to stay away. Ultimately, he was arrested.
