Police allege that Frank Sundstrom was driving under the influence and driving the wrong way on I-95 in Old Lyme, which caused the December crash that killed North Haven's Marjorie Minore.

A Rhode Island man has been arrested after he allegedly became intoxicated and then drove the wrong way on I-95 South in December, causing an accident in Old Lyme that killed three people, including a 90-year-old woman from North Haven.

NBC Connecticut reports that Frank Sundstrom, 52, of Warick, RI, was arrested today for allegedly hitting a car with the three women inside on I-95 South in Old Lyme, killing all three. Sundstrom, who police allege was intoxicated at the time, was driving northbound on I-95 South when he crashed into the oncoming car.

The crash killed Tamara Nolin, 71, of Branford, who was driving the car, and mother-daughter pair Marjorie Minore, 90, of North Haven and Barbara Prato, 63, of East Haven, who were both passengers. Sundstorm was charged with three counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, driving the wrong way on a divided highway and improper entry, and was held on $750,000 bond, according to NBC Connecticut.
