Police Blotter: Two Arrested for TV Theft from Senior Home

Two men alleged to have removed TV from senior housing complex on Pool Road.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of a flat-screen TV from a senior housing complex on Pool Road that occurred in July.

Gregory Avitabile Jr., 38, of Branford, and Michael Ardito, 28, of  North Haven were charged with larceny in the fifth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the fifth degree. After posting $7,500 bonds, both were released pending a court date scheduled for September 1.

Avitable gained access to the facility under the pretense of visiting a relative who lives there.

The TV was recovered earlier this month in the home of Daniel Wazocha, 64, North Haven. Wazocha was charged with possession of stolen property.

In other crime news, an eighteen year old from North Haven was arrested this morning under suspicion of having burgled a home near Whitney Avenue, and taken jewelry and prescription drugs.

Daniel Bonanno was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the second degree and conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree. He is currently being held on a $35,000 bail pending arraignment Monday morning.

Also arrested in connection to the robbery was Connor McNerney, 19, of both North Haven and Bethany, who was charged last week with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the second degree, and conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree.

McNerney posted $35,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 25.
