North Haven Police welcomed its newest officer earlier this week, after Julie Hill was sworn in during a ceremony at department headquarters Tuesday, according to a New Haven Register report.
Hill most recently served as an officer in the New Haven Police Department, where she was part of the patrol for the Fair Haven section of the city.
North Haven Police Chief Thomas McLoughlin told the newspaper that the Western Connecticut State University graduate will fill a hole in the ranks created when a sergeant retired.
Hill's brother, an active duty service member, and her father, an East Hartland resident, both attended the swearing in ceremony.
