Stun Gun Subdues Suspect; Blown Traffic Light Leads to Bust; Arrested for the 34th Time; Dad Charged for Allowing Toddler to Wander Streets

When crime is weird, wonderful or just plain freaky, you'll find it in OMG PD.

MILFORD – Maybe crack cocaine, heroin and paraphernalia just didn’t cut it anymore for this 25-year-old resident and he was looking for something with a little more kick. Either that or Frank Palumbo just really didn’t want to get arrested when police responded to his Valery Court residence March 17.

Whatever the reason, officers had to break out the stun gun to gain control of Palumbo.

EAST HAVEN – These three must have missed Criminal Behavior 101 at the School of Hard Knocks when a critical lesson was taught: obey all traffic laws when driving around with drug paraphernalia and a gun.

Anthony Calder of New Haven, Daniel Quoka of East Haven and Stacy Petrovich of Stratford were arrested Tuesday just before midnight after blowing through a traffic light.

Once pulled over, police located drug paraphernalia and an unloaded gun that was reportedly stolen. Some people just have to learn lessons the hard way.

Here’s the full report.

STRATFORD – OMG PD perfection in a headline: “Norwalk Man With 33 'Priors' Charged With Shoplifting.” We won’t even get into the details here. You can read the full report for more on this one.

HAMDEN – This is so horrible it’s almost unbelievable.

A 23-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on a charge of risk of injury to a minor when police and fire personnel located his 21-month-old son walking in the middle of the road. The baby was reportedly wearing his pajamas, no shoes and a dirty diaper, while the father, Adrian Nelson, was asleep in his home. The child was almost hit by a car.

We want to know: what was this man doing sleeping at noon on a Wednesday when he was supposed to be taking care of his baby boy? We hope the state Department of Children and Families investigates and takes any and all appropriate action to ensure the safety of the child.

Here’s the full story.
