Suspect Attempts to Run Down NHPD Motorcycle Officer
NHPD currently in pursuit of suspect.
A car chase took place around 4:50 p.m. this afternoon when a man driving a red Chevrolet reportedly attempted to run down a New Haven police officer on a motorcycle.
New Haven police pursued the suspect onto I-91 into North Haven, ultimately forcing the driver to ditch the vehicle and continue on foot on Elm Street, according to police.
The North Haven Police Department confirmed that a pursuit was underway, but said New Haven officers were leading the investigation.

Officers are currently tracking the suspect with the assistance of a K-9 unit. An arrest has not yet been reported.
