Three Jewelry Thieves Apprehended

Meriden man charged with stealing over $1,000 worth of jewelry.

Dennis Remillard, 33, of Meriden, CT has been charged with stealing $1,100 worth of jewelry from a North Haven home in a June, 2011 burglary.

Police investigating the break-in on Culver Lane concluded that Remillard had taken the valuables and sold them.

The suspect was taken into custody this morning and charged with larceny in the fifth degree. He is currently being held on bond.

In other crime news, two East Haven men have been apprehended in connection to an October break-in on Middletown Avenue. 

Joseph Anastasio and Andrew Rispoli were reportedly spotted by witnesses parking their black pick-up truck by the residence, and leaving with with a pillow case full of jewelry.

The stolen goods are estimated to be worth around $15,000. 

Working with East Haven police, local officers picked up the two men yesterday. Loot from the robbery was still in their possession at the time of the arrest.

Joseph Anastasio was charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the second degree, criminal trespass in the second degree, and conspiracy. Andrew Rispoli was charged with criminal trespass in the second degree, conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the second degree. 

Both men are being held on a $10,000 bond.
