A Wallingford woman was arrested Tuesday night and charged with criminal attempt at first-degree assault and conspiracy to first-degree assault, WFSB reports.
According to police, an undercover investigation was conducted in which Cynthia Hannon, 59, tried to hire undercover officers to viciously assault and hospitalize her ex-husband.
Hannon paid the police informant $2,500 to carry out the brutal attack. She provided the informant with a photograph of her ex-husband, along with detailed information about his daily routine and whereabouts.
Police said Hannon agreeed to pay the remaining amount of the informant's fee after the assault was completed.
Hannon was arrested without incident at her home Tuesday evening and held on a $100,000 bond. She was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Wednesday morning.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
