Bradley International Airport Upgrades 'Dog Relief Areas'

Responding to animal lovers' complaints the airport recently upgraded dog relief areas at Terminal A.

Even dogs need a potty break before and after boarding planes, so Bradley International Airport has just upgraded the relief options for Fido.

The airport had one area that wasn’t well-known and not well maintained, John Wallace, airport spokesman, said. Through an animal lovers website, airport officials learned that Bradley’s doggy facilities were considered inadequate, he said.

Airport officials took the complaints to heart and decided to improve the existing relief area and add a new one.

“Basically we responded to customer requests and we're letting people know we heard them and responded appropriately,” Wallace said.

The dog relief areas are located on the lower level of  Terminal A. One is located between the older section of Terminal A and the Sheraton Hotel, outside JetBlue baggage claim. The other is at the opposite end of Terminal A near the taxi starter booth, outside Southwest baggage claim. Both areas are equipped with clean-up baggies and animal waste garbage cans.

Wallace said the additional customer amenity was completed in mid-August and has green-colored paw prints directing customers to the relief areas.
