Curbside Pick-Up Program to Begin September 6

First Selectman announces guidelines for September bulk pick-up program.

First Selectman Mike Freda has announced that a curbside bulk-pickup program for the town of North Haven will begin September 6.

According to a release issued by Town Hall, the Department of Public Works will accept, "large upholstered items (couches, chairs, mattresses, box springs, love seats, sectionals and recliner chairs); appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, ranges and dish washers) and scrap metals (curtain rods, bicycles, metal tables, metal ladders, lawn mowers, metal grills, air conditioners, etc.)."

Not included in the program are all wood items, which the release mentions can be put on the sidewalk for collection year-round.

Electronics can be brought to the town's Recycling Center, located on Elm Street next to the North Haven Racquet Club.

“The Town and it's Department of Public Works is committed to providing the best quality of customer service it can given the modified bi-annual bulk collection schedule”, Freda commented in the release.
