There are only a handful of days left in June–and only two business days including today. And while that means the fun in the sun has begun, it also means it's time to get your favorite pet pooch a new license.
To license your dog, you must have the current rabies certificate with the expiration date of the rabies vaccine and if the dog is neutered or spayed, a certificate from the veterinarian must be presented.
The cost for registering your spayed or neutered dog, which is mandated by the state, is $8, while the fee for a non-neutered or non-spayed dog is $19. Fees are accepted in cash or by check. After June 30, a late fee of $1 per month is charged in addition to the fees below.
Licenses may be obtained from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday (except for Legal Holidays), at the Town Clerk’s Office, located at .
Payments to be made in the form of cash, check or money order (payable to the North Haven Town Clerk).
Licenses and tags may be obtained by mail IF the following information is provided: owner’s name, address, and phone number AND the dog’s name, age, sex, color and breed. You must also provide a self-addressed stamped envelope so that we can return all original documentation to you, along with your dog license and tag. At this point, the $1 late fee should be included if you register by mail.
The “Dog License Application” is posted on the Town Clerk’s section of the Town’s Website. For more information, call Town Clerk’s Office at 203-239-5321 ext. 541.
