Governor Malloy Visits North Haven To Award Grant Money

On July 17, Gov. Dannel Malloy came to North Haven Memorial Town Hall to congratulate residents and town officials on a $127,240 Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant.

The money is for the renovation of the basketball and tennis courts at Canna Park at South Avenue and Carina Road.

The governor said one of the reasons the town was awarded the grant was due to the involvement of the community in its "ownership of a neighborhood park."

"The refurbishment of this park is an important issue within the community of North Haven," said Malloy. "It's a good thing when residents rally around a park."

Malloy was joined by State Representative Dave Yaccarino, State Senator Len Fasano and State Senator Martin "Marty" Looney and welcomed by First Selectman Michael Freda.
