North Haven Ends Year With $1M Surplus

The town will use the money to offset future expenses.

North Haven’s 2012-13 fiscal year has ended, with the town showing a $1 million surplus.

The New Haven Register reports that First Selectman Michael Freda said the surplus is particularly unexpected because the town had to pay for overtime during Superstorm Sandy and during the blizzard in February.

He said he will use the money to lower taxes in the future.
