North Haven Rep. David Yaccarino: Why I Voted Against The State's Budget

In a newspaper column, North Haven's state representative explains his vote against the state's budget for the upcoming two years.

This legislative session, State Rep. David Yaccarino, R-North Haven, voted against a $44 billion state budget for the next two fiscal years years.

Why? Because the budget, which was passed almost exclusively by democratic lawmakers, spends too much and borrows too much, Yaccarino wrote in a column in the North Haven Citizen.

"I fear this was another wasted opportunity to enact much needed reform," Yaccarino wrote in the column. "We need to be honest and forthright with our fellow citizens. This budget does not do that."
