North Haven's Michael Freda Running Unopposed For First Selectman

The Republican is seeking his third term.

North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda will run for first selectman again this November, and it appears he will not have an opponent.

Freda, a Republican, is seeking his third term. The New Haven Register reports that the Democratic Town Committee announced earlier this week that it would not field a candidate for first selectman this year, and so far no independent candidate has announced his or her intention to run.

Still, Freda argued he did indeed have an opponent.

“That person is someone who is a very difficult opponent for me. And that opponent, his name is Mike Freda,” Freda told the newspaper. “I compete against myself, and push myself to levels that sometimes can be exhaustive.”

Are you happy with the job Freda has done in his first two terms?
