Substance Abuse Action Council Holding Courses

North Haven's SAAC running parenting workshops throughout October and November.

North Haven's Substance Abuse Action Council will be offering four sessions throughout the months of October and November dedicated to helping parents address the dangers of teen drug use.

Titled "The Courage to Speak—Courageous Parenting 101", the course will offer, in the words of its organizers, ways "to strengthen parenting skills and help families develop strategies to make better decisions in stressful situations."

Taking cues from The Courage to Speak Foundation, a nonprofit advocacy group focused on substance abuse education and curriculum development, the sessions will be held at the North Haven Middle School beginning Tuesday, October 18, at 7:00 p.m. and continuing at the same time for the next four weeks.
