The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for New Haven County, as well as Fairfield County, according to the emergency alert system.
The notice, which broke into regular television programming at 12:23 p.m., reported the warning will remain in effect until 12:53 p.m.
Additionally, after of rain and thunder today, the weather service meteorologists have updated their forecast this morning.
Because of this, the service has issued a hazardous weather alert reporting severe storms are expected to impact the area today, bringing with them heavy rains and strong, gusty winds.
