ACES Appoints Cindy Ratchelous as Principal of North Haven's ACES Mill Road School

ACES is pleased to announce the appointment of Cindy Ratchelous as Principal of ACES Mill Road School in North Haven. 

Cindy had served as the Assistant Principal at ACES Mill Road School since 2007. Prior to joining ACES, Cindy was the coordinator of Pupil Services for Amity Regional School District #5 in Woodbridge. Her wealth of teaching experience includes positions at Cheshire High School, Amity Junior High School in Bethany, Yale University, Yale Child Study Center in New Haven, Elizabeth Ives School in Hamden and Highland Heights in New Haven.

In addition to her extensive teaching experience, she also brings a wealth of administrative and leadership development to her new role. Her leadership development experience includes the Education Policy Fellowship Program, Teacher Evaluation Training, Leading for the Common Core, and ConnCASE Special Education Leadership Forums. 

Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from the University of Connecticut (1988), a Master of Science degree in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University (1994), and a Sixth-Year Diploma in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University (1996).

“Cindy has demonstrated incredible commitment to her students, our schools and our agency," said ACES Executive Director Dr. Craig W. Edmondson. "Since joining ACES in 2007, she has earned enormous respect from the Mill Road staff and our greater ACES community." 

"The entire agency joins me in welcoming Cindy to her new position as principal of Mill Road School, and has every confidence that she’ll lead ACES Mill Road School with the care, dedication and professionalism that she exhibited as Mill Road’s assistant principal," he added.

ACES is the Regional Educational Service Center for the 25 school districts in South Central, Connecticut. ACES programs, schools and services include adult and vocational programs, magnet schools, special education schools, and interdistrict programs, children and adolescent services, professional development and school improvement, and technology services.
