Local Prof to Discuss "Sports and Society" at Quinnipiac

The panel marks the latest in the university's Scholarship Across Disciplines program.

Donn Johnson, an economics professor at Quinnipiac University and a North Haven resident, will join two other scholars for a panel discussion on "Sports and Society" on February 24. 

Part of an ongoing Scholarship Across Disciplines (SAD) program, the event will also feature commentary from Phillip Cunningham, a visiting professor in the School of Communications, and Stan Rothman, a professor of mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences. 

Johnson received a BS and a Ph.D from Colorado State University, as well as an MA from Washington State University, and has published work dealing with the intersection of economics and the natural environment, as well a pieces concerned with compensation policies in professional athletics.

The panel will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Mancheski Executive Seminar Room in the Lender School of Business Center, and will be free and open to the public.
