North Haven Diver Takes Win at Southern Connecticut Conference Girls Swimming and Diving Championship Meet

Amanda Saslow received 342.90 points for her eleven-dive repertoire.

NHHS diver Amanda Saslow made a huge splash at the recent Southern Connecticut Conference Girls Swimming and Diving Championship Meet as she won the diving title with 342.90 points for her eleven-dive repertoire. 

The North Haven High girls swim team placed ninth out of 16 teams with 257 points, The meet was held at Cheshire and the Rams won their 17th consecutive SCC crown. North Haven also received strong  performances from the 200-yard freestyle relay (Sarah Pucci, Rebecca Kalkowski, Kayla Laydon, and Alyssa Laydon)—1 minute, 47.98 seconds;  Alyssa Laydon (5th—100 breaststroke: 1:13.31 and 16th in the 50 free: 27.05); the 400 free relay (Hannah Finch, Emily Laydon, Morgan Dietter, and Kalkowski –4:02.61; Pucci (8th—500 free: 5:30.17); 200 medley relay (Kayla Laydon, Dietter, Alyssa Laydon, and Pucci)—2:03.22.

Other Indian competitors include: Kalkowski (11th—500 free: 5:43.17 and 22nd—200 free: 2:10.10); Kayla Laydon (13th—200 individual medley: 2:23.83 and 16th in the 100 backstroke: 1:06.37); Dana Carman (20th—diving: 225.35); Emily Laydon (22nd—100 butterfly: 1:09.51); Hanna Finch (22nd—100 free:1:01.07 and 25th—200 free: 2:11.44)  Jesse Goldberg (24th—100 breaststroke: 1:20.36);  Dietter (28th—100 butterfly: 1:10.60); and Kameryn Larkins (28th—500 free: 6:02.80).
