QU Students Collect Gifts for Operation Christmas Child

Students in the nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs donated over sixty boxes to charity.

Nurse practitioner and physician assistant students at Quinnipiac University's North Haven campus collected sixty shoe boxes-worth of holiday toys last week in support of Samaritan Purse’s Operation Christmas Child, a charity program dedicated to delivering gifts to needy children overseas.

“Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes,” commented Cindy Lord, director of the physician assistant program in the School of Health Sciences in a press release.

A part of National Nurse Practitioner Week, the shoe box campaign coincided with a host of other charitable projects run by the University, including free blood pressure tests, and information sessions on a number of health issues, such as cardiac disease, diabetes and breast health.
