North Haven Football Improves to 2-0 with Win Over Xavier

The Indians topped Xavier 42-28 in their second game of the 2013 season.


The North Haven football team hosted Xavier on Sept. 20, taking a 42-28 victory. The Indians took a 7-0 victory in the first quarter and never trailed, though Xavier pulled within a point at 7-6 in the second quarter and again later in the frame at 14-13. 

North Haven led 21-13 heading into halftime. Xavier tacked on another TD in the third quarter and, coupled with a two-point conversion, tied the game at 21-21, but the Indians pulled away in the final frame, scoring three touchdowns to Xavier's one for the win.

Ethan Suraci rushed in two TDs, while Zach Kastehuber received two for the Indians, while Evan Manemeit (reception) and Michael Halloran (rush) each had one. Sabrina Fronte was 6-for-6 on PATs. Kastehuber totaled three receptions for 130 yards. 

Halloran was 4-for-14 passing for 144 yards and had 13 carries for 66 yards. Suraci led the team in rushing with 142 yards on 12 carries. Michael Montano added 69 rushing yards and Cole Pecora had 45.

Austin Mahon and Suraci led the defense with 14 tackles apiece, while Halloran, Pecora and Patrick Mikos each had eight, Manemeit had seven and Alex Baglioni added six.
