North Haven Football Tops Sheehan to Get Back to Winning Ways

The North Haven football team jumped out to a quick lead on Oct. 11 and kept going to take a 47-28 victory over Sheehan to stand at 4-1 so far in 2013.

In the first quarter, the Indians punched in two scores from the two-yard line, the first by Ethan Suraci and the second by Mike Halloran, to take a 13-0 lead. Suraci opened the second quarter with a 36-yard run before Sheehan got on the board at 19-7. Halloran's five-yard QB keeper paired with a two-point conversion pass to Zac Kastenhuber put the Indians up 27-7 heading into halftime.

The third quarter scoring looked identical to the third as Suraci's five-yard run (with Halloran running in a two-point conversion) was answered by a Sheehan TD. Halloran closed the quarter with another QB keeper for a 41-14 lead.

Sheehan scored to open the final frame before Suraci punched in his fourth and final TD of the game, this time from the one-yard line. Sheehan scored with 2:10 left to finalize the scoring at 47-28.

Halloran was 6-for-7 passing for 55 yards to go with 113 rushing yards. Michael Montano collected 126 yards on 13 rushes with Suraci adding 114 yards on 17 rushes.

Patrick Mikos and Suraci led the defense with nine tackles apiece, while Austin Mahon, Michael Siwek and Halloran each had six. Michael Milliard had two sacks and Mahon, Benjamin Pethick and Jeremy Imperati each had one.
