Memories, Sitting Shiva, Goodbyes and The Funniest Man on TV

Hello my friends. it has been some time since I've written, but much has changed. Recently, my mother, a strong, intelligent graceful woman passed away after a brief but intense battle with cancer. My father Joseph and his wife Sandra had been together for 54 years and in todays world that equates to 3000 years. My mother will be missed by all who knew her and by all who's lives she touched. She was a music teacher for 40 years, starting in Tacoma Washington, coming to Montowese and then finally East Haven where she spent the rest of her career. She taught me all i know about music and all I know about life and love of life. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and even during my turbulent teen years, she always treated me as a person, a real living breathing person. She accepted everything that came her way with grace and intelligence. I simply want to thank all of those who came to the wake and all of those who shared their memories with our family. I gave the eulogy at her funeral and then played her favorite song on my old trusty guitar, "Margarittaville". This woman who shared her love of Bach, Beethoven and Shubert with me and the world loved a Jimmy Buffett song the most. . . simply because 20 years ago, it was the first song I learned on guitar. I have no plans to forget her or to miss her because everything she was and every soul she touched is part of me and will always be.

Now. . I have much more to say, but not just yet. I just wanted to let everyone know that they all need to watch the funniest man on TV. His name is Tom Shields and his little Third Reich program is brodcast on North Haven Public Access, which is the perfect place for racist, bigoted Fox bullet points to be aired. He believes his show is controversial-sorry, not even close. He thinks he is being harsh and groundbreaking, sorry Tom, you have to be educated for that. I watched three of his little shows and all it was was bullett points straight from Fox News(Where the truth goes to die) Mr. Shields, this is not a political column and for the most part will remain that way, however, in my 20 years of working for The Town of North Haven(I'm retired from the world of law enforcement) I've learned some things about you and your "4" businesses. I even love to qoute you to my friends. My favorite line of yours is "Obama never even had a paper route"   Um, Mr. Shields, he was a lawyer, went to a pretty good college I hear too and based on simply listening to you speak, his pinky finger has more intelligence than your whole racist, bigoted and sexist body.  I have never seen such disrespect of our Commander in chief. What's next Tom? Jews run the media? Obama engineered the Sandy Hook shooting so he and his communist friends can take your guns away?  I don't want to say any more about this caveman and his outdated views. Tom, the republicans lost, the Tea Party is nothing. You and your kind are dinosaurs. Some day a book will hit you on the head and you'll become extinct. But keep doing your show man, because I haven't laughed this hard since Sarah Palin told us all about foreign policy!
