The pond can be fished by small children when accompanied by adults. It's been used by North Haven for the town's annual fishing derbies.

The park has a number of picnic tables, a family of resident geese and a beautiful stand of pine trees to one side of the park that is also open to the public.

Altogether, the park is comprised of 35 acres, once owned by the Chapman and Sinoway families. The park opened in 1978.
