Peter's Rock Association
133 Middletown Ave, North Haven, CT 06473
Peter's Rock rises 373 feet above North Haven and for those who make the trek to the summit, they are rewarded withMore spectacular views of the town and the Quinnipiac River, as well as New Haven and beyond, Sleeping Giant and Meriden's Hanging Hills. There are two entrances to Peter's Rock that have parking areas. One entrance is via Hermitage Lane, which might be called the backdoor and the other is main entrance on Middletown Avenue. There is also a trail off of Cloudland, although that loop is unmarked and does not stretch to the summit, nor connect to other trails. Eleven trails and loops, in total, make up the Peter's Rock trail system. The trails are very well marked. As for difficulty, the trails run from easiest to most difficult. However, while hikers can walk easier trails, they can only access the topmost viewing by way of the red-blazed trails. Hikers are allowed to bring dogs, but they should be sure to keep them on a leash and clean up after them. The Peter's Rock Association does need volunteers and members. Membership is inexpensive. Look at the Peter's Rock Association website for details on joining, volunteering, fundraising and seasonal events.
