As an ex restaurant owner I congratulate the owner of the restaurant in Milford that gives out food for those in need. I was the owner of the Soup Shopp in Hamden I started in 1974 Being successful I wanted to give back to the community. I was one of the group that started the Community Soup Kitchen in New Haven in the late 70s. Giving back to the community was something I learned from a chef instructor while attending the Culinary Institute while it was in New Haven. When I opened the Soup Shopp it gave me the clout to get donors from food services and at that time YALE was a big contributor to the program. Now retired and living in West Palm Beach Florida.at 78 years old I still am involved feeding the homeless. Two days a week I help out at St Rita church in Wellington FL. It is never to late to give back to the community that you live in. There is always a need to help people in need. You never know you just might one of the people in need. So please check out your community to see where you can give back. You will be a better person for it. GOD BLESS
