Local Filmmaker Wins Screenwriting Award

Georgina Capristo-Gajdosik wins top prize in NYC Filmmaker's Screenplay Contest.

North Haven-based filmmaker Georgina Capristo-Gajdosik, , has been awarded the top prize in the 2011 New York Filmmaker's Screenplay Contest for her script, "(Make Me) Blush."

The movie, a rock musical detailing the creative awakening of an NYC artist, competed against entries from across the world during the October 8-9 New York Filmmaker's Festival. 

This win marks only the latest accolade for the script, an earlier draft of which made it to the semi-finals of the Writer's Network Screenplay and Fiction Competition in 2003.

Capristo-Gajdosik's earlier short film, "Loved, alone", was also featured at the festival, and screened at the Anthology Film Archives Theater in New York City.
